Nexxit Laboratory Chair
The Bimos Nexxit laboratory chair is configured by Pacific Ergonomics — 20+ years of specifying lab and industrial seating for universities, pharmaceutical companies, biotech facilities, and production environments nationwide.
Getting the right Nexxit chair starts with understanding your application type: ESD, production, laboratory. Multiple configurations cover chemical-resistant labs, production floors, ESD bench work, and standard ergonomic lab support. We then explore your needs with bench height, cleaning protocol, floor type, static control requirements, timing, budget, and ergonomic needs. In the end, with this information and our expertise, we are able to configure the correct solution, place the order for large projects, and get it to you effectively and efficiently with the products that are stocked locally.
10-year warranty. Pacific Ergonomics also provides ergonomic lab assessments and industrial ergonomic assessments as separate services — full evaluations of workstation types, postures, tasks performed, and MSD risk across your lab or production floor. If your team is experiencing discomfort or injuries, an assessment identifies exactly where the risk is before you spend on solutions.
Description
Bimos Nexxit Series of Solutions
The Nexxit is not one chair — it is a series of configurations built for different environments. We understand your goals, specify the right laboratory chair for your application, place the order, and get it to you. Some configurations are stocked in the U.S. for faster deployment. Tell us what your environment requires and we take it from there.
Not sure which configuration fits your environment? That is exactly what the call is for.
What Is an Active Sitting Chair?
An active sitting chair uses a mechanism that lets the seat and backrest respond to your body as you move, rather than holding you in one fixed position. On the Nexxit, the synchronous mechanism connects the seat and backrest so both shift together when you lean forward or shift your weight. When you reach across the bench, pivot toward another station, or move into a task, the chair responds. Your core and back stay engaged because you’re not locked in place.
You can also lock the back in position when the work calls for it. The Nexxit handles both — active movement and stable fixed support — and you switch between them based on what you’re doing at the bench.
Forward Tilt for Forward-Leaning Bench Work
A lot of bench work is inherently forward-leaning — pipetting, microscopy, inspection, precision assembly. On a flat or backward-tilted seat, that posture pulls the lower back into flexion and puts unnecessary load on the hips. The Nexxit’s seat inclination adjusts forward by up to 6 degrees, tipping the seat pan so your pelvis stays in a neutral position and your weight is distributed toward the work, not fighting against it.
This is one of the practical differences between a laboratory chair designed for bench work and one designed for desk work adapted to a bench. Most chairs are not built for forward-leaning postures. The Nexxit is.
How the Nexxit Laboratory Chair Adjusts
The Nexxit has more adjustment range than most lab chairs, and each adjustment is there for a reason.
Seat slider. The seat pan slides forward and backward up to 60mm, independently of the backrest. Taller users slide it forward for full thigh support. Shorter users bring it back so their feet stay flat. This is infinitely adjustable, not a two-position detent, so every user gets the position that fits them rather than the closest available option.
Active sitting or locked support. The synchronous mechanism lets the seat and backrest move together as you shift, reach, and pivot. That keeps your back muscles engaged rather than static. When you want the back held in place for focused work, you lock it. You switch between the two based on what you’re doing at the bench — and the chair handles both well.
Backrest height. The backrest adjusts 60mm up or down so lumbar support lands where it should for each user, not at a fixed position that works for average heights only.
Seat inclination. The seat pan tilts forward up to 6 degrees for bench work where you’re naturally leaning into the task. This keeps the pelvis in a neutral position rather than letting it roll back under the load of a forward posture.
Automatic weight adjustment. The synchronous mechanism self-calibrates to the user’s body weight. In a multi-shift environment where different people share the same laboratory chair, each person sits down and the resistance is already set for them. No manual adjustment between users.
An optional foot ring (chrome-plated, adjustable height) keeps feet supported at bench height. Handles are available in five colors — useful for differentiating departments or cylinder versions across a facility.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between active sitting and a standard lab chair?
A standard lab chair holds you in one position. An active sitting chair moves with you. The Nexxit's synchronous mechanism responds to body movement throughout the shift, which keeps muscles engaged and reduces the static loading that builds up in the lower back during long bench sessions. You can also lock the back in place when you want stable support rather than movement.
How do I know which cylinder height I need?
Tell us your bench height. The Nexxit is available in multiple seat height ranges. We confirm the right cylinder for your application before anything is ordered.
How do I know if the upholstery will hold up to my cleaning protocol?
Tell us what your lab uses. We configure the Nexxit with the right upholstery for your environment and confirm compatibility with the manufacturer before the order goes in. For labs running specific disinfectants at specific concentrations, including alcohol-based products, we get you a direct answer before anything ships.
Do I need to specify the chair before ordering?
Yes this is the most important part. We start with a call to understand your bench setup, environment, and goals. The right configuration depends on bench height, floor type, cleaning protocol, and who's using the chair. This process ensure you get you the lab right chair. Ordering without it usually means getting something wrong. We don't let that happen.
What is the warranty on the Nexxit?
