Lab Chairs & Stools

Lab chairs and lab stools specified by Pacific Ergonomics — 25 years of deep lab seating expertise across dozens of manufacturers and hundreds of lab environments nationwide. Every supplier is different. Every lab is different. We know both. Pacific Ergonomics is also hired independently to conduct laboratory ergonomic assessments — and that expertise comes with every product order.

Workers perching without back support all day. Forward-leaning tasks where there is no room for the feet. Lab chairs failing from chemical cleaning. High turnover with employees saying they are uncomfortable. Rising MSD injuries. We can help.

Why Facilities Across the U.S. Work with Pacific Ergonomics

Pacific Ergonomics is hired by companies to conduct laboratory ergonomic assessments — that is a professional service we provide independently of product sales. When you order lab chairs or stools from us, you get that expertise included. We work with university procurement offices, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, biotech facilities, and industrial operations nationwide. Most lab seating problems come down to chairs that were never configured for the person, the task, or the environment. We fix that before anything leaves the warehouse.

Lab Chair Ordering Portal — Standardize, Then Streamline

Once your lab chairs and stools are specified and standardized for your facility, Pacific Ergonomics sets up a dedicated ordering portal with your pre-negotiated pricing locked in. Reorders are simple. Additional locations across the country can order from the same portal — same products, same pricing, same configuration — without starting the specification process over. For multi-location organizations, this eliminates inconsistent seating across sites and removes the procurement friction that comes with re-sourcing every time a new facility opens or a reorder is needed.

Reducing Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in Lab Environments
Improperly specified or adjusted lab seating is a primary ergonomic risk factor for MSDs — injuries to muscles, tendons, and joints that accumulate over time from poor posture, awkward reach, and unsupported positioning at the bench. Pacific Ergonomics specifies and configures seating to reduce these risks for each user, not just deliver a product. Learn more about our laboratory ergonomic assessments. For OSHA guidance on ergonomics in laboratory environments, see OSHA’s ergonomics resources.

Manufacturers We Specify

We work with a curated group of manufacturers because each brings different strengths for different lab environments. We match the right brand to your application rather than defaulting to one manufacturer across the board.

Sitmatic  •  Ergocentric  •  Bimos  •  BioFit  •  ECD  •  Office Master  •  Benchdepot  •  Cramer  •  and several specialty manufacturers

What We Confirm Before Anything Ships

Every order goes through the same process. We ask the right questions upfront so the chair that arrives is the one that fits.

1

One Chair or Stool — Configured to Do Both Jobs

When two adjacent workstations need both a chair and a stool, the typical approach is to order two separate products. In many cases, one lab chair can be custom configured to function as both — reducing cost and simplifying ordering without giving up ergonomic fit. We identify those opportunities during the specification process.

2

Multi-Shift Support — Different Users, Same Stations

In a multi-shift lab, the same chair sees multiple users every day. We specify chairs with the adjustment range to cover the full shift population at each station, and we provide setup guidance so each shift starts with a chair that fits — not one left at yesterday’s settings.

3

Different Body Sizes on the Same Team

A standard-size lab stool or chair does not fit everyone. We assess the range of users at each station and specify seat widths, seat depths, back heights, and weight capacities that cover the actual team. Ordering the right mix of standard and wider seating upfront means every user has a chair that supports them — not one they are adjusting to fit into.

4

Foot Support, Foot Rings, and Specialty Accessories

Correct seating does not stop at the chair. Larger foot rings reduce compression behind the legs for users working at elevated bench heights. Specialty accessories help users work safely at fume hoods. For petite users, step supports allow safe entry and exit from chairs at bench height. These are part of every configuration — not afterthoughts.

5

Electric Adjustable Benches Change the Recommendation

When a bench is electrically adjustable, the chair or stool needs a wider height range so the user can match seat height to bench height as it changes throughout the day. A fixed-cylinder stool that works at one bench height becomes a posture problem when the bench moves. We ask whether your benches are fixed or adjustable before specifying anything.

6

Cleaning Products Matter — We Always Ask

Certain cleaning agents degrade specific seating materials. A lab chair specified without knowing your cleaning protocol can fail at the surface long before the chair wears out. We ask what cleaning products your facility uses before specifying any seating surface — and we match the material to your agents. Most dealers never ask. We always do.

7

Floor Type, Environment, and Caster Compatibility

Casters that roll on standard hard lab flooring can catch on anti-fatigue mats or damage ESD floor surfaces. In ESD environments, the caster material is part of the discharge path and must be specified correctly. For cleanroom environments, caster design affects particulate ratings. We confirm your floor type before ordering.

8

Bench Height Confirmed Before It Ships

Lab chairs and laboratory stools ship with the cylinder set for your actual bench height. We confirm bench heights before procurement so each chair arrives ready to use — not adjusted on-site to a range it was not designed for.

How Each Department Wins

Procurement

Pacific Ergonomics is a certified women-owned small business (WOSB), which supports diversity spend requirements for government agencies and universities. Once products are standardized, we set up a dedicated ordering portal with your pre-negotiated pricing so multiple locations across the U.S. can reorder directly — no re-specification, no starting over.

EHS

We partner with your EHS team to understand your goals, confirm the correct lab chair is specified for each environment, and configure seating to reduce MSD risk. Documented specification — not just a product delivery.

Facilities

Turnkey assembly and delivery anywhere in the U.S., or ship flat-packed for your team. The 10-year multi-shift warranty covers ongoing support so your facilities team is not managing seating failures alone.

Lab Managers

Seating that fits correctly reduces discomfort, lowers MSD risk, keeps people focused, and improves morale. When your team feels good at the bench, it shows in productivity and retention.

Executives

Top lab talent has options. Comfortable, properly configured workstations signal that your organization invests in the people doing the work. Correct lab seating helps attract and retain the researchers, clinicians, and technicians who drive your outcomes.

Where These Lab Chairs and Stools Fit

University and research labs with multiple bench areas, different bench heights, and rotating user populations

Clinical and medical labs specifying lab chairs and stools for multi-shift shared workstations

Pharmaceutical and biotech facilities with chemical exposure requirements and specific cleaning protocols

Industrial and manufacturing labs needing laboratory stools and chairs rated for continuous multi-shift use

Multi-department facilities across the U.S. that need different seating configurations across different areas in the same building

How It Works

Four steps from first conversation to chairs at your bench.

1

Schedule a Call

We start by listening. Tell us about your team, your bench setup, your environment, and your budget. We ask the right questions to understand your goals and problems before we recommend anything. If you want to bring in more team members — EHS, facilities, lab managers, procurement — we’re happy to meet as many times as it takes until we fully understand what each department needs.

2

We Recommend Solutions

Based on your needs and budget, we recommend one or more solutions for your team — chair models, configurations, seat sizes, accessories. We also recommend getting one chair before you buy a hundred. Sit in it at your actual bench. We help facilitate that process so your team can evaluate the chair in your environment before committing to a full order.

3

Full Specification

We confirm every detail before anything is ordered — bench height, cylinder range, seat size, cleaning compatibility, caster type, floor surface, and accessories. Nothing ships until the configuration is right.

4

Procure, Deliver, Install

We procure and coordinate delivery to your facility anywhere in the U.S. Turnkey assembly and installation available, or flat-packed for your facilities team. Backed by a 10-year multi-shift warranty.
