Neon ESD Chair

Pacific Ergonomics has specified and configured ESD chair seating for semiconductor fabrication facilities and electronics bench environments for over two decades. We work with dozens of ESD seating manufacturers and specify chairs based on discharge resistance requirements, bench height, shift duration, and compliance standards. ESD seating that is not correctly matched to your grounding path and floor resistance creates real production risk — ESDA identifies electrostatic discharge as a documented cause of component damage and safety failures in electronics environments.

The Bimos Neon ESD meets DIN EN 61340-5-1 with a verified discharge resistance. If you are specifying ESD seating for a project from 5 to 2000+ stations, contact Pacific Ergonomics before you order. The right configuration depends on your grounding path, floor resistance, and workstation height, and getting those wrong costs more than the chairs.

Description

The Neon ESD Chair

The Bimos Neon ESD chair is a Red Dot Award-winning ergonomic specialty seating solution built specifically for ESD production environments. The backrest is ergonomically shaped and tapered toward the top, giving users a wide range of movement without losing back support. The seat has an integrated pelvic support and a rounded front edge that prevents pressure from building in the thighs during extended shifts.

The chair uses a 1+1 modular system — the chair frame and mechanism are one element, the upholstery is a second element that clicks on and off without tools. This means upholstery can be swapped or replaced without replacing the whole chair, which matters in environments where surfaces take heavy daily use or need to be upgraded as facility requirements change.

Two mechanism options are available: a permanent contact backrest, where only the backrest moves when you lean back, and a synchronous mechanism that moves seat and backrest together to support the lumbar spine in all positions. Both lock in any position. Pacific Ergonomics helps you choose the right mechanism for the task and the user before the order is placed.

Why the Neon ESD Chair

ESD Protection Confirmed Before the Order Ships

The Neon ESD uses volume-conductive plastics and steel parts with a conductive coating to deliver a typical discharge resistance of 106 ohm — exceeding the requirements of DIN EN 61340-5-1. Pacific Ergonomics confirms the grounding path and Stop & Go caster compatibility with your floor type before the order is placed. Not after delivery.

A True Ergonomic ESD Chair at Bench Height

The Neon ESD is configured for desk-to-bench height work, with a seat range of 22.1″–32.3″. The included height-adjustable foot ring supports posture during extended shifts at elevated surfaces, reducing lower back and thigh pressure that builds up without foot support. Seat depth, seat inclination, and backrest height all adjust independently — so multiple users sharing the same chair across shifts can each set it up for their body.

German Engineering, 10-Year Warranty

Bimos is the lab and ESD seating brand of Interstuhl, built and tested in Germany. The 10-year multi-shift warranty includes free shipping of replacement parts for the full period. For multi-shift operations where chairs stay in service for years, that warranty is part of the total cost calculation.

Easily Just Replace the Seats if the Upholstery Gets Damaged

Duotec ESD upholstery is breathable and suited to clean ESD environments — available in black, blue, or grey. The ESD artificial leather option is PVC-free, wipes down quickly, and resists oils and commercially available disinfectants. Both use a click system that can be changed without tools, so upholstery can be swapped without replacing the chair. Also if it is ever damaged, you just purchase a new seat that pops in like a brand new chair.

Flex Strip Accent Colors
Flex strip accents come in orange, green, blue, or grey. Facilities use these to color-code workstations, align with floor markers, or differentiate seating zones across a production floor.

Specifying the Neon ESD Chair for Large AI and Semiconductor Facilities

AI hardware manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, and data center buildouts require ESD seating at scale needing hundreds or thousands of chairs specified to the same standard across multiple workstations, zones, and shifts. Getting the specification wrong on one chair is a problem. Getting it wrong at scale is an expensive one.

Pacific Ergonomics manages large ESD seating projects from specification through delivery. Before a single chair ships, we confirm the ESD grounding path, caster compatibility with your floor type, cylinder range for each bench height in the facility, and upholstery selection for each zone. Every chair in the project ships to the same confirmed specification.

The Neon ESD’s 1+1 modular system matters at scale. Upholstery elements click on and off without tools, so replacements across a large installation are straightforward — you are not pulling chairs out of service to swap a surface.

Standard configurations are available in 1–2 weeks. For large custom-specification factory orders from Germany, lead time is 9–11 weeks. Pacific Ergonomics coordinates delivery timing across the full project scope. Call 619-546-0872 to discuss your facility’s ESD seating requirements.

Other common ESD lab chair applications include:

  • Semiconductor wafer handling and inspection stations
  • PCB testing benches
  • Electronics manufacturing quality control positions
  • Static-sensitive component kitting and storage areas
    All ESD Chairs and Stools

Not sure which Neon ESD Chair configuration fits your bench setup? We confirm the grounding path, floor compatibility, and cylinder range before every order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ESD chair standard does the Neon ESD lab chair meet?

The Neon ESD lab chair exceeds the requirements of DIN EN 61340-5-1 with a typical discharge resistance of 10⁶ ohm. It carries a GS certificate for tested safety, along with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Blue Angel, and Fraunhofer Ergonomics Report certifications. Pacific Ergonomics can provide the full certification documentation for your ESD program records.

Is the Neon ESD chair compatible with ESD floor mats and grounding systems?

The Stop & Go castors lock when someone sits down, satisfying DIN 68877 safety requirements at bench height. ESD caster compatibility with your specific floor type — mat, anti-static tile, or other surface — is confirmed before the order ships. Call us with your floor type and we will confirm compatibility.

Can the Neon ESD chair be configured for different bench heights?

Yes. The seat adjusts from 22.1" to 32.3", covering standard desk and bench-height work surfaces. Pacific Ergonomics confirms your bench height before specifying the cylinder so the chair arrives at the right range for your workstation.

Is a headrest version available?

Yes. For positions with upward-looking tasks or extended seated shifts where neck support matters, the Neon ESD Lab Chair with Headrest is also available. Same ESD performance, same German engineering, with adjustable head support added.

How quickly can the Neon ESD lab chair ship?

Standard configurations in stock are available in 1–2 weeks in certain colors. Factory orders from Germany ship in 9–11 weeks. Pacific Ergonomics confirms availability at the time of order so you can plan your delivery date accurately.
